Quirky hotel with very welcoming staff It’s a different concept and we really liked it - much less formal than hotels normally are The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely - liked the storage concept in the rooms - original We liked the ceiling too - minimalist finish as it us in concrere Sheets , pillows and towels all good quality Good choice for breakfast -15euros ( hot and cold ) although little fruit left by 830AM - must have had a lot of guests in before us The area is a couple of km from the centre down by the river - it’s lovely - newly developed and clean with lots of bars and restaurants and green spaces too Very well situated to admire all of wonderfully designed architectural structures and buildings in the area We only stayed one night - would like to have stayed longer - maybe next time !

The hotel seemed reasonably new as it was very modern, clean and in good condition. The welcome from the staff was excellent, everything explained simply to us. The reception/dining/relaxation area was very modern. The room was a good size with a very big bed. It was clean and had a great view of the harbour. The self-service breakfast was always well stocked in the mornings and had enough range for all tastes to be satisfied. It is a little bit out of the city centre but yet in a very lively, cool area next to a tram stop. It took 11 minutes on the (very regular) tram to get in to the city centre. Overall it was excellent value for money.

The Staff at the Moxy were exceptional, they really went out of their way to help. One person went above and beyond, she works night shifts, sorry I don't know her name, she speaks great English, as do most of the staff. I was in a predicament, I left my bag in the back of a taxi, I called her and she was able to get in contact with the driver and organise for him to return to the airport, with my bag, which contained my passport. I would have missed my flight, only for her. I can't thank her enough, that is what I call exceptional staff.

The Moxy has a completely different approach to hotel décor. It appears the target customer is a young person working away from their normal office. The seating area, shared for meals, is equipped with tables with PC connection points. The rooms have similar connection points but no table space. However, this works well even for retired tourists. Good location for several of Bordeaux's tourist attractions.

Funky hotel. Young, laid back, modern, graffiti style. Location is in a newly built hotel area on the port, next to the City du Vin (slightly off city centre). Small, but comfortable rooms. Comfortable bed. Ok breakfast. Eventually fun atmosphere. Parking is round the corner (15 EUR / day is actually cheap for Bordeaux).
